Addressing Real-Life Challenges

Neighborhood Change Makers helps young people navigate the real-life challenges they face every day — from emotional struggles and behavioral issues to system involvement and lack of safe, supportive spaces. We provide trauma-informed behavior coaching, consistent mentorship, and youth-led programming that addresses emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and access to support systems.

What to Expect: Supportive Programs

When a young person connects with Neighborhood Change Makers, their experience is built around trust, respect, and real-life tools. A typical session might include a check-in, goal setting, skill-building activities, and reflection. Outside of one-on-one sessions, they might also join healing-centered workshops, youth-led events, or drop-in hours for resources and mentorship. Every experience is youth-centered and culturally aware.

Our Unique Approach

What sets us apart is that we don’t just “serve youth” — we build with them. Our approach is real, relationship-based, and rooted in lived experience. We combine behavioral coaching with mentorship, advocacy, and creative expression in a way that feels safe, empowering, and culturally relevant. We lead with trust, create space, center lived experience, and blend healing with action.

"I’ve seen young people walk in guarded, overwhelmed, or misunderstood — and over time, leave with confidence, purpose, and a stronger sense of self."
